Dental Bridges DUBLIN
Missing teeth can do more than impact your appearance — they can affect how you chew, speak, and even the alignment of your bite. At Merrion Square Dental, we offer expertly crafted Dental Bridges in Dublin to help you regain a complete, confident smile.
Whether you’re missing one tooth or several, our experienced team provides high-quality solutions tailored to your individual needs, including Same-Day CEREC Dental Bridges and Resin-Bonded Dental Bridges.
What Is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth. It literally “bridges” the gap between remaining teeth, anchoring an artificial tooth (or teeth) to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants. Bridges are custom-made to match the shape, colour, and size of your natural teeth for a seamless appearance.
Types of Dental Bridges Available at Merrion Square Dental
We understand that every smile is different. That’s why we offer a range of modern bridge options to suit your dental needs and budget.
1. Traditional Dental Bridge
This is the most common type of bridge, consisting of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) held in place by dental crowns cemented to the adjacent teeth. It’s ideal when you have healthy teeth on either side of the gap.
2. Same-Day CEREC Dental Bridge
With advanced CEREC technology, we can now create and place your dental bridge in a single visit. A digital scan is taken, and your custom ceramic bridge is milled right in our clinic—no temporary bridges or repeat appointments needed.
Perfect for: Busy individuals looking for fast, high-quality dental care in Dublin.
3. Resin-Bonded Dental Bridge
A conservative option that uses a metal or porcelain framework bonded to the back of adjacent teeth. It’s often used to replace front teeth and does not require reshaping of nearby teeth.
The Dental Bridge Procedure: What to Expect
At Merrion Square Dental we ensure your dental bridge treatment is smooth, comfortable, and transparent.
Step 1: Consultation & Assessment
We begin with a detailed consultation to assess your oral health, take digital scans, and recommend the best bridge type for your needs.
Step 2: Preparation
For traditional bridges, the supporting teeth are prepared and shaped to fit crowns. If you opt for a CEREC Same-Day Bridge, digital scans are taken immediately.
Step 3: Custom Design & Fitting
With CEREC, your bridge is designed and fitted on the same day. For other types, your impressions are sent to the lab, and a temporary bridge is placed while your permanent one is crafted.
Step 4: Final Placement
Once ready, your permanent bridge is precisely fitted and securely bonded. You’ll leave with a functional and natural-looking smile.
Benefits of Getting a Dental Bridge

How Long Do Dental Bridges Last?
With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental bridges can last 10 to 15 years or even longer. It’s important to brush and floss daily and visit your dentist for professional cleaning and check-ups.
Caring for Your Dental Bridge
To keep your bridge in excellent condition:
- Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste.
- Use a floss threader or interdental brush to clean under the bridge.
- Avoid hard or sticky foods that can damage the bridge.

Letters From Our Patients in Dublin
My wife & I were patients of Barry & Geraldine at this practice for many years & we were concerned that they had decided to retire (despite the fact that we are retired ourselves). Having said that, we were delighted to discover that they left us literally in the very capable hands of Patrick & without exception all of his wonderful team. We cannot praise them enough for the highly professional, confident & caring approach to dentistry.
Good luck with your new practice Patrick & see you soon. Gerry & Ailish

I recently had two separate treatments in Merrion Square Dental. First was a very tricky filling in a back tooth which was causing pain, this was completed with excellent results. Following that, I had crown work done on a few teeth that were no longer looking too good, and I am absolutely delighted with the results which are completely natural and discreet looking. I was very well taken care of from start to finish, which included follow on after care appointments. I would highly recommend Patrick and the team for their care and professionalism

Left a message looking for an appointment for a tooth extraction but wasn't expecting to get seen to as quickly as I did! Paddy rang and gave me an appointment for 6.45pm that evening. He examined the tooth and suggested because of the symptoms it might be a filling was too high and grinding of the teeth was causing the pain. He said he could file and polish the tooth and see would that improve the matter before having to remove it. I was happy to agree and he worked away, making sure I was comfortable while he was doing so. He told me to contact the surgery if the pain didn't go away and the receptionist said she would ring me on Friday to check how it was. All good so far, fingers crossed! Great service!
